The beauty of living in Bethesda is having access to plenty of attractions and activities, many of which are centrally located near Bethesda Row.

From spa treatments, to cooking classes, and strolls in and along nearby trails and parks, there are plenty of things to do in Bethesda Row.

Bethesda Row Trails & Parks

Capital Crescent Trail & Caroline Freeland Urban Park

The Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) is located just one block south of Bethesda Row and you can enter directly from Bethesda Avenue (near the Woodmont Avenue intersection). The CCT is a paved, pedestrian-only scenic trail that runs between Georgetown, D.C., Silver Spring, MD and runs directly through the heart of Bethesda.

Used by walkers, joggers, and bikers, the CCT is a great place to enjoy a pleasant stroll by foot or by bike. If you need to take a breather, the trail contains several rest areas with water fountains and benches as well.

There are also several points of interest along the trail, including historical sites and scenic views. You can find a list of all the attractions on the trail on the CCT’s website.

The Caroline Freeland Urban Park is only one block north of Bethesda Row and is located at the intersection of Elm Street and Arlington Road.  Although only one acre, this urban escape offers several attractions for all ages.

The park includes a covered wooden pavilion, an open-air wooden trellis, public art, lawn area, benches, and picnic tables, as well as a fenced-in playground. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing post-dinner stroll, or you want to take the grandkids to the playground after lunchtime, the Caroline Freeland Urban Park is a convenient attraction when you’re visiting Bethesda Row.
