FAQs
When is it time to move into an active adult community?
There’s no one right time to move into a 55+ active adult community -- or a 60+ community like Fox Hill -- but it’s never too early to start making plans. Older adults who are looking to enrich their social lives enjoy the sense of community here at Fox Hill. Some owners decide to move in to get peace of mind after changes in their health, or when home maintenance becomes too much to handle. Others choose to simplify their lifestyle by getting access to on-site meals, housekeeping and more..
What are the benefits of living in an active adult community?
First and foremost, active adult communities make life easier and safer. These senior living communities typically offer on-site dining and amenities that are easily accessible, including fitness centers, spas, libraries, gardens and more. Furthermore, active adult senior living also boosts residents’ social lives through a range of activities and opportunities to pursue lifelong interests. Overall, active adult communities like Fox Hill support meaningful paths for active adult living.
Can you buy into an age-restricted community if you’re younger?
It’s possible, but you’ll have to check with the community you’re interested in. Active adult communities are designed to meet the needs of older adults, which is why there are age restrictions. Typically, if at least one member of your household is 60 years if age (depending on type of community), you will be allowed to live there. This is most common for spouses of different ages. However, you probably won’t be allowed to have younger folks, such as grandchildren, live with you. (Though they can certainly visit!) At Fox Hill, one owner must be at least 60 years old.
